J-Quiz Japanese Competition Quiz for High School Students
On Saturday, February 18, 2012, high school students from all over Minnesota and Wisconsin will gather together to put their knowledge of Japanese Language and Culture to the test! Teams of students from each school will compete in 3 levels of difficulty. Students will first write an essay, then participate in a preliminary round of questions regarding Japanese Language and Culture. The winners are sent to Washington D.C. to compete in the national Japan Bowl and attend the Sakura Festival. On Sunday, January 15th, JASM will hold its annual New Year Celebration Shinnenkai. This year’s event will be held at the Eisenhower Community Center at 1001 Minnesota Highway 7, Hopkins, MN 55305. The event will run from 4 pm to 8 pm and feature a wide variety of entertainment, cultural presentations, and fun activities. Japanese food and concessions, prepared by members and friends of JASM, will also be available for purchase. Join us to celebrate for the traditional end of the year JASM gathering! This has been a favorite event for those who miss the Japanese end of the year party: the Bonenkai tradition.
